Western students win repiratory therapy award

Western Technical College Respiratory Therapist student Talman Wiles of Eyota was part of a team that recently won the 2019 Top RT Challenge earlier this month at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

The three-day competition involved healthcare simulations designed to test the team's teamwork, knowledge, dexterity, and creativity in a high stress environment. Teams were randomly placed in brackets and competed head-to-head. The Western team defeated 14 other schools, including some four-year Respiratory Therapist programs, in the competition.

In addition, Western student Talman Wiles won the Top RT 2019, an award to the highest scoring individual throughout the competition.
